Based in Belfast, the Northern Ireland Veterans Commissioner’s Office (NIVCO) plays a vital role in supporting the welfare of veterans across the region. With a small but dedicated team, NIVCO provides advice, advocacy, and assistance to former service personnel, many of whom still feel the effects of the Troubles. Key Objective
Reaching the right audience
The key objective was to increase awareness of NIVCO among veterans and the wider public. Many were unaware of the office’s existence or misunderstood its purpose. We partnered with the team to build a clear, bold message that would resonate across generations. With a careful understanding of tone and location, Platform Media developed a strategy that would bring NIVCO’s voice into the public sphere.

The complexity of the brief lay in communicating compassion, support, and credibility, without overcomplicating the message. Our design team created strong, recognisable visuals that clearly highlighted the services offered, while remaining sensitive to the office’s mission. The creative direction reflected both heritage and forward-thinking values, ensuring veterans of all ages felt represented.


What we did
On the streets of Belfast and beyond
To maximise impact, we launched a targeted OOH campaign including 48-sheets, Adshel posters, and digital formats across Belfast and the North Coast. Platform Media handled media planning, buying, and activation, working with trusted partners to secure the most strategic sites. The result was a high-visibility campaign that brought NIVCO’s presence into everyday spaces and conversations.
